چکیده

Abstract This paper argues that the proponents of epistemological scientism must take some stand on scientific methodology. The supporters cannot simply defer to social organisation science because processes themselves meet methodological criteria. Among such criteria is epistemic evaluability, which demands intersubjective access reasons. We derive twelve theses outlining implications evaluability. Evaluability can support weak and broad variants scientism, state sciences, broadly construed, are best sources knowledge or other goods. Since humanities sciences produce epistemically evaluable results, narrow types only natural as require additional argumentation in their support. Strong takes source knowledge, also needs appeal further principles since evaluability not an all-or-nothing affair.

Defects, Scientific Computation and the Scientific Method

Computation has rapidly grown in the last 50 years so that in many scientific areas it is the dominant partner in the practice of science. Such principles are built around the notions of deniability and reproducibility. Alth...

Scientific Methods: Epistemological Issues in Cross-Disciplinary Science Curricula

We discuss the different ways of conducting scientific investigations among working scientists, and identify a small set of general categories of method. These methods amount to distinct operational definitions of "data" and consequently different epistemologies that, to some degree, are domain-specific. We also identify a set of domain-general reasoning skills for scientific analysis and use o...
